Ozonation
Introduction
Ozone is a powerful oxidising agent, produced by passing air or pure oxygen through an ozone generator.
Ozonation is the process of infusing ozone gas into wastewater to purify it.
This generates hydroxyl radicals, which further promote oxidation of recalcitrant pollutants.
Working Principle
Oxygen molecules pass through the dielectric surface within the ozone generator which then applies high voltage to the molecules.
This high voltage breaks down the oxygen molecules into multiple oxygen atoms.
These oxygen atoms further combine with the oxygen molecules (that weren’t broken down) to combine and form ozone.

The equalized sewage is usually diluted, which helps keep the Total Suspended Solids (TSS) under control, for Ozo-Bioxy AOP
Ozonation combined with Bioxygenation effectively dissolves sludge into sewage water, circulating it within the ozone-mixing tank
Besides removing BOD, COD, E-Coli, Nitrogen, Color, Odor, etc., the sludge is completely detoxified, with no extra sludge-handling costs
Ozo-Bioxy AOP decomposes the molecular structure of hydrocarbons present in wastewater
These hydrocarbons break down into non-toxic compounds, leaving behind no toxic residue
